new obsessions......

I always thought the day I would prefer flatter shoes over heels was the day I officially got old.
I've been a high heel freak for as long as I can remember. But what changed? How could I change my opinion so radically about my footwear? For those of you know don't know, I'm an obsessed shoe nut. I swore I would never switch to the lower side. But you know what? It's like having your eyes opened to a whole new world. And I'm hooked!
High shoes with a flatter or lower incline are now right up my alley. I'm looking for all day wearing, not 2 hour trips.
But I still love my heels.

floral denim makeover

- Jacket, Jeans and Tank- Topshop, Boots- Chloe -

Last winter season I picked up this little floral denim jacket from Topshop. I didn't get as much use out of it as I'd hoped. While looking closer at the material, I realized that the darker coloring might bleach off nicely.
So I took a large plastic bin with warm water and bleach, and mixed the jacket continually over and over so the color wouldn't bleach uneven. After about 45 minutes I was really pleased with the result. The jacket was wet and so I didn't know if it would be blue underneath or gray. Either way I didn't care! I love the bright pink roses and green leaves. I adore it 10X more!
I'm definately getting more use out of it now, especially with my new favorite skinnies from Topshop.

paris with mom

My beautiful mom.

Back in May I was fortunate enough to plan a last minute low budget trip to Paris with my mom while she was out visiting. We drove the 12 hours and stayed in a fabulous little B&B, which was in short walking distance to the train station. It dropped us off right at Galerie Lafayette. Straight away we purchased two day passes on the hop off/ hop on bus. This was a great way to get around as our stay was only two and a half days.
This was my second time visiting, so I knew where le Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame were. We saw as much as we could and my mom left happy and satisfied with what we accomplished in such a short time.
Mom paid for our B&B and fuel for the car. My budget: 150€. And I accounted for every penny, and spent it too!
I couldn't leave without a couple souvenirs- Paris Vogue, metal Betty Boop wall decor and holy smokes never had macaroons before now I have and life will never be the same!!!

Hope you enjoyed my favorite pics from the trip.

net-a-porter sale

A few of my favorite picks:

Bird by Juicy Couture jacket

When sale time comes around, I'm like a little girl in a candy store. Problem being that everyone is offering sales. What's a girl to do???
With pre-Fall already around the corner and breathing down our necks, I thought it may be wise to check out items practical for the season ahead. Not to mention many lovley picks starting at 50% off. J. Crew offered more than one appealing garment that I would be happy to hang in my wardrobe. If you're on a budget you can find things cheaper than what you get in the average department store.
Happy shopping girlies!

bows and studs

- wallet- Sonia Rykiel, bag- 3.1 Phillip Lim -

Way back when we visited Copenhagen, I wanted a souvenir. I wasn't sure what, but I knew it would hit when I saw it. This lovely little studded bow wallet caught my eye immediately! It happened to be the last one and being that I've been on the hunt for a smaller wallet since, well, forever!!! I just had to have it.
Oddly enough I had also just boughten my Phillip Lim Edie bag a few weeks prior and hadn't thought about the one when I got the other. The leather and hardware are different, but similar concept. I had to laugh when realizing they sort of matched......a little.

girls day out

I love a planned shopping day. I mean, who doesn't? My daughter is wearing a pair of vintage sunglasses thrifted for .75 cents. We had a lot of fun, and great bargains were found.

jc suebee

On a recent trip to Paris while strolling through Gallerie Lafayette, I came across lovely flat wedges quite similar to the JC Suebee inspired by the Derek Lam Reika wedge. I tend to shy away from ballerinas or flats simply because I hate being too low to the ground. But this offers the comfort of wearing a flat shoe and still getting height in the process. Love it! I would just like to see more variations as patent leather isn't a particular favorite of mine. So far, these and a nude pair are the only ones I've found online at Lori's Shoes. I look forward to grabbing a pair one of these days.

iro agnette

- Jacket: Iro, Jeans: BCBG, Top: Superdry Vintage Thrift Co. -

A short while back I was finally able to get my hands on an IRO Agnette jacket directly from France. The website is Poopoopidoo.fr. (No joke.) They were offering 20% and it was already cheaper than Petra Teufel, and I always love a bargain. Still looking for it in black though. I love a good challenge.

topshop picks

- All garments from Topshop -

For whatever reason I always manage to gravitate towards Topshop. Whether it be for the variety, or easy returns. Plus some of the sites recent upgrades make shopping there even better. I managed to grab 3 out of the 4 garments above. I love anything Asian or Japanese influenced.

the best accessory???

My husband is a big fan of old timers. I confess..... so am I.
Little old cars, I love them!
We enjoyed a Sunday old timer fair with a mini flea market included. The flea market was mostly old car parts and accessories. A man's shopping dream. But amidst the testosterone fueled goodies was a plethora of girly stuff too! I grabbed a vintage/antique butter or cheese dish and a Villeroy & Boch cookie jar. Or is it a really big sugar bowl???
I brought my 3.1 Phillip Lim Edie bow bag along for the day. A very satisfying purchase from Net-A-Porter.
